- Since I "upgraded" to MUI3.2, I've noticed a /really/ weird problem when
- running one MUI application (GMS - a fidonet mailer).
-
- Actually, the problem isn't apparent when running the mailer, but more after
- it's been run - every MUI application used after GMS has been run and quit
- is *very* slow (60 sec+ to open a screen, when normally it would take 5 sec
- or less), and some gadgets, noticibly the scroller left, right and down
- arrows, are missing. All non-MUI applications, when run after GMS work fine,
- at their normal speed.
-
- It seems as though something is hogging CPU time - GMS not releasing a MUI
- library perhaps?
-
- If I do an "Avail Flush" after quitting GMS, everything works fine. No other
- MUI application I use (and I use a fair few!) has this problem, and it was
- not apparent when using MUI 3.1. I've run Snoopdos, but nothing stands out
- as being wrong.
-
- It does sound like a GMS problem, considering that no other application
- causes the "slowdown".
-
- I'm using v3.2 of MUI, v1.1.64 of GMS, and the following commodities etc at
- startup - Executive, MCP, MagicCX, Virus Checker, ARQ, MagicMenus,
- BlitzBlanker, Powersnap, NewMode, ToolManager, ToolsDaemon and DOpus5, but I
- have disabled them all, and run from a vanilla startup, and the problem
- still exists.
-
- Any ideas (and dumping MUI isn't one :-)?
-
